Symantec Encryption Desktop Trialware doesnt encrypt

Hi

I've installed the trialware of Symantec Encryption Desktop. I'm using a POP3 email account, have generated, exchanged, imported and signed keys. i've edited the policies and all seems well. However the emails do not appear to be encrypted when sent, in other words it doesnt seem to be doing anything. I get no error messages and emails are coming and going without an issue. However even if I set the policies to block if emails are not encrypted or whatever, it doesnt seem to be doing anything at all. I;ve tried to manually encrypt the messages, no error messages but also no encryption. I have the 30 day trial license which has 23 days left so that not the issue. Anyone help?
